Package Itinerary

  • Day 1 Aswan

    Arrival to Cairo where you will be met by your GW representative who will help you with your immigration and customs formalities, then you will be transferred to your hotel.

  • Day 2 Cairo / Tour

    Breakfast at hotel then you will start your day -escorted by your private Tour guide - by a visit to Memphis at the edge of the western desert, the capital of the ancient kingdom, and one of the most important cities throughout the history of ancient Egypt. From there you will head to Sakkara, the vast necropolis of ancient Memphis where you will see the first trial of a perfect pyramid- called the step pyramids. Lunch will be during the tour in a typical restaurant. In the afternoon, drive to the Pyramids of Giza. Cheops Pyramid, the largest of the three, was built in the 3rd Dynasty about 2690 BC, and is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Enjoy a camel ride by the pyramids area (optional). In front of the Pyramids of Chephren, you will find the Sphinx carved from a single piece of stone. It is a lion with a Pharaoh`s head thought to be a portrait of the Pharaoh Chephren. You will have the chance to enter the temple adjacent to the statue. Back to your hotel & overnight

  • Day 3 Cairo / Fayoum

    Breakfast at hotel & then embark into a unique & wonderful journey to El Fayoum, Egypt`s largest oasis, overlooking Lake Qarun which is a popular spot for hunting and fishing. You can visit the remains of the Temple and Pyramid of Amenhat III and Qasr Qarun, a well-preserved temple of the Greco-Roman era. Lunch at the Oberge el-Fayoum Hotel overlooking the lake. Then continue to the town of Karanis to visit some of the temples, tombs and the museum. This town was used by the Romans in the 1st century BC. Then tour to Maidum. The Pyramid of Maidum was originally a seven-stepped pyramid. Eventually the steps were filled in and a smooth outer facing turned it into a true pyramid. It is a huge structure that is surrounded by the debris from the casing that collapsed. The Maidum Pyramid is thought to have been started by Huni, the last ruler of the 3rd Dynasty and then completed by his son Sneferu. Sneferu was the first 4th Dynasty Pharaoh. (2613-2494 BC). A little north of the Maidum Pyramid is the remains of the Seila Step Pyramid, which is made of limestone and is thought to be from the 2nd Dynasty. Transfer back to your hotel for an overnight.

  • Day 4 Cairo / Tour

    Breakfast at hotel then a drive with your tour guide to Dahshur to visit the Red Pyramid and the Bent Pyramid. The builder of these pyramids is thought to have been Sneferu. Who is thought to have built the Pyramid of Maidum. His son was Cheops who continued his constructive tendencies. Lunch on your way back from Dahshur. Transfer back to your hotel. PM after noon felucca sailing on the Nile where you will enjoy some soft drinks & the refreshing Nile breath Later you will be transferred back to your hotel

  • Day 5 Cairo / Luxor

    Breakfast at hotel & transfer to Cairo domestic airport to board your early 1 hour flight to Luxor. Upon arrival your field coordinator will meet you & transfer you to the west bank. Valley of the Kings and Queens: Today’s Program will start with a visit to the West Bank of Luxor to explore the Valley of the Kings, a vast City of the Dead where magnificent tombs were carved into the desert rocks, decorated richly and filled with treasures for the afterlife by generations of Pharaohs. You will also see the Valley of the Queens.   
    Hatshepsut Temple: Rising out of the desert plain in a series of terraces, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Ancient Egypt’s only female Pharaoh) merges with the sheer limestone cliffs that surround it, as if nature herself had built this extraordinary monument.

    Colossi of Memnon: On the way back to the river Nile, your road passes by the famed Colossi of Memnon, known in Ancient Greek times for their haunting voices at dawn.

    Lunch in a local restaurant, and then you will continue to the East Bank of Luxor, starting with the strikingly graceful Temple of Luxor dedicated to the god Amun.

    Karnak Temple: Proceed to the Temple of Karnak, built over more than a thousand years by generations of Pharaohs. The great “Hypostyle Hall” is an incredible forest of giant pillars, covering an area larger than the whole of Notre Dame Cathedral.

    Transfer to Luxor domestic airport to board you night flight back to Cairo. Transfer to your hotel in Cairo & Overnight

  • Day 6 Cairo / Tour

    Breakfast at hotel then Start your full day tour with your Egyptologist tour guide visit the Egyptian Museum famous for its antiquities from Egypt`s Pharaonic period, which dates back some 50 centuries & includes the fabulous treasures of the mysterious young King Tutankhamen. Lunch will be at a local restaurant Followed by a visit to Islamic Cairo, see the Fortress of Salah el Din & Mohamed Ali Mosque. Continue to Khan El Khalili one of the oldest & most famous bazaars in Cairo. Farewell Dinner cruise included in the program with folkloric dance
